What BOYNEXTDOOR Jaehyun's 辛亥 day pillar says about his ideal partner — read from his birth chart, not from an interview.
In Korean astrology, Jaehyun's ideal partner stands up straight. His 辛亥 day pillar — the part of a Saju chart that describes what someone is drawn to — is polished Metal in deep water, and the first stem in that water is 甲, the tall tree, which is his proper partner star. He is drawn to someone upright and dependable with a voice of their own, who brings warmth into a chart that is almost entirely water.
Jaehyun's day pillar is fine Metal lying in deep water. The Metal is him. The water is what the Metal is drawn to, and standing in it, first among the hidden stems, is a tall tree.
His chart is the shape the old texts call a general's — not force, but the structure other people arrange themselves around. It is also, in three pillars, nearly all water: 癸 above the month, 癸 above the year, 亥 under the month and 亥 under the day.
So he is not drawn to more water. Someone who drifts, who goes along, who takes their shape from whoever is nearest, would add to a chart that is already flowing in every direction and give him nothing to stand against.
He wants the tall tree. Someone upright and dependable, with their own stature and their own opinions, who speaks plainly and does not bend to the room. And warm — because the one thing all that water is short of is sun, and a partner who carries it is the correction his chart is quietly looking for.
Jaehyun's 亥 holds 甲 Wood and 壬 Water, with 壬 as the principal.
Against his 辛 day master those are 정재 and 상관. The 정재 is his partner star, the proper, settled form of it, and it is 甲 — the tallest and most upright thing in the system. That is where the stature in the reading comes from.
The principal stem is 壬, which is 상관 to a 辛 day master: the star of expression, talent and saying what one thinks. A 상관 spouse palace describes a partner who is articulate and outspoken. Read together, the position describes someone who stands straight and talks straight.
Jaehyun was born on 4 December 2003, in the 亥 month — early winter, 壬 as the principal stem, the same water that sits in his spouse palace. Two 亥 branches side by side also form 자형, so the water in his chart is not only abundant but restless.
《穷通宝鉴》 on 辛金 in this month asks for 壬 first, to wash the Metal clean, and 丙 second, to warm it. The washing he has in excess. The 丙 is absent; the only Fire in his chart is a 丁 hidden in his year branch 未.
Polished Metal in cold water, with nothing to warm it, is a chart that reads as composed and feels colder than it looks. That is why the warmth in a partner is not a preference here but a correction, and why the reading puts it beside the uprightness rather than after it.
Read from stem combination, branch harmony, clash and 원진. Why these four →
Both halves — 辛 and 丙 combine at the stem, 寅 and 亥 at the branch — and 丙 is the exact warmth 《穷通宝鉴》 asks for, with 甲, his partner star, hidden in the 寅. The clean answer.
甲 is the partner star itself, standing above a branch that harmonises with his palace and carries 丙 inside it. Upright first, warm second.
未 makes half the 亥卯未 frame with his branch, and 丁 is the small flame already hidden in his own year branch. 未 is that year branch, so this one is half in the chart.
巳 against 亥 is a head-on clash on the spouse palace.
辰 with 亥 is 원진, wet earth muddying water that is already deep.
亥 with 亥 is 자형. His month branch already does this to his spouse palace; a partner with the same branch makes it three.
Taesan is the other 辛 day master in the group, standing on a very different branch, and the two readings show how much the spouse palace changes when the stem stays the same. Taesan's 辛酉 reading →
This is who Jaehyun's chart is drawn to. Your chart says who you end up with: the age gap, their looks, how they show affection, where their money comes from and the years you are most likely to marry. Read from your date and time of birth.
Jaehyun was born on 4 December 2003, giving him a 辛亥 day pillar and a 癸亥 month. Idol birth times are not public, so this works from three pillars rather than four. How day pillars work, and how far this method goes →
Your day pillar comes from your birth date, not your birth month, which is why a star sign cannot give it to you. Free, and about a minute.
FIND MY DAY PILLARSomeone upright, dependable and warm. His 辛亥 day pillar is polished Metal in deep water, and the first stem in that water is 甲, his 정재 partner star — a partner with stature and a voice of their own, who brings the warmth his almost-all-water chart lacks.
More water. Someone who drifts or takes their shape from whoever is nearest adds to a chart that is already flowing in every direction.
辛亥, from his birth date of 4 December 2003. In Saju the day pillar is the relationship indicator: the stem is the person and the branch is the spouse palace, 배우자궁.
丙寅 combines at both the stem and the branch and carries both the warmth the classics ask for and his partner star. 甲寅 and 丁未 also fit. 巳 clashes with his spouse palace, 辰 is 원진, and a second 亥 forms 자형 — which his own month branch already does.
His 亥 branch holds 甲 Wood and 壬 Water — 정재 and 상관 against his day master. The 정재 is his partner star and it is the tall tree, which is why the reading is about uprightness. The 상관 is the principal, which is why it is also about having a voice.
